In the event of adverse weather, registration will move to the enclosed area in the barn opposite. Please sign the disclaimer and then proceed to the relevant registration table to complete the registration process.

Please note registration will CLOSE at 11am sharp.

Directions:

From A1 East – take exit for Haddington (Abbotsview Junction).

From A1 West (Edinburgh) – take second exit for Haddington (Abbotsview Junction).

  • Go across the traffic lights, and straight on out of Haddington past the Maitlandfield Hotel on the right.
  • Over the single lane bridge with the traffic lights and turn immediately right onto the B6368 signed Bolton/Humbie/Lauder.
  • After 2.5 miles go through Bolton, and at the sharp corner at the top of the hill, fork left signed to Gifford. Continue up the hill for half a mile and turn left at red/white signs “Eaglescairnie Mains”.

From A68 travelling North – 10 miles north of Lauder turn right onto B6368 signed Humbie/Haddington.

  • Continue for 8 miles; at X with B6355 turn right towards Gifford. After one mile take first left signed Eaglescairnie/Bolton.
  • Turn right after 1/4 mile at red/white signs “Eaglescairnie Mains”.

Race Route: The route is roughly 3km and will be marked and marshalled but we ask that you still take time to familiarise yourself and your older runners with the 3km route as there is still a danger of getting lost.

Race Terrain: The terrain will be challenging, please expect wet conditions with the potential for some mud in areas. There may be sections with low hanging branches, tree stumps and trip hazards. The routes also contain soft sand, rock, and some minor drop offs that will be clearly marked.

Obstacles: Don’t worry. None of the obstacles are mandatory and if you do not want to complete them then please just walk around. All obstacles will be marshalled so if you do need a hand to get over some then this will be available. Please be prepared for climbing, crawling, jumping, and for getting wet!

Harder Routes: Two areas of the route have a ‘harder option’. These are more than accessible for even the smallest of runners, and have been tested by our smallest team member who is 3. However, they are not very buggy friendly so please take the ‘normal’ route option if you are bringing a buggy.

‘Wet Feet’: At one point our course splits off, allowing a wet feet option for those brave enough to take it! Again, this has been tested by our mini Sharks but it is not buggy friendly. All buggies will be required to be left at the top of the split, and can be collected again upon return. This section of the course contains a lot of natural obstacles, including mud mounds, tree branches, and vegetation. It is however a very exciting part of our course and we will have photographers dotted around so please remember to smile.

Clothing: Please wear appropriate clothing and footwear. Make sure those trainers are tied on tight! Please bring a full change of clothes with you, including a towel. Changing facilities will be limited however there will be an area in which you can leave bags and change after the race.

The Public and Spectators: Please respect other trail users whilst running, we will be utilising public paths. It is of the utmost importance that we are courteous to all other trail users. Please warn the public when approaching from the rear. There will also be spectators at various points on the route. Please be aware of this at all times.

Insurance: The race is covered by Events/Public Liability insurance but all racers and spectators attend and participate in the event at their own risk. Please read the terms and conditions that are at the bottom of this email.

Water Stations & Refreshments: There will be two water stations located on the route. They are located on the normal route and all runners will pass them. Every participant will be offered unlimited water during the race. There will be water and other refreshments offered at the finish line.

First Aid: We have four fully qualified First Aiders within our Event Staff team. In addition to this all marshals will be carrying first aid equipment. If you do require assistance, please find your nearest marshal and help will be provided.
